Leadership

  • Crystal Barry, MA

    Executive Director & Board Member

    Crystal Barry is the Founder and Executive Director of Therapeutic WORKS Inc., bringing over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. A Rostered Psychotherapist and Mental Health Consultant, she holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology. As Executive Director, she provides strategic and operational leadership for the agency, overseeing program development, organizational growth, and systems implementation to ensure high-quality, ethical, and effective services.

    In addition to her executive leadership responsibilities, Crystal provides pre-trial screening and release services, with a specialty supporting individuals with complex mental health diagnoses, traumatic brain injuries, and serious listed offenses. She works with individuals who have persistent mental health symptoms, those who have struggled with engagement, or who have experienced barriers to accessing other service providers. Her work emphasizes accountability while addressing both clinical and systemic factors that contribute to involvement in the criminal legal system.

    Driven by a lifelong mission to infuse humanity into a restorative system that turns no one away, Crystal is committed to addressing systemic barriers that disproportionately impact the most vulnerable populations. Her work focuses on racial disparities, economic hardship, and childhood trauma. She has also provided crisis support in Lebanon, Syria, Kenya, and the United States, broadening her impact on a global scale.

  • Hope M. Love, MSW, ADC

    Chief Operations Officer

    Hope Love is the Chief Operations Officer at Therapeutic WORKS Inc., where she provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and supervision of agency staff in support of the organization’s mission and continued growth. In this role, she guides the agency’s operations and program initiatives, ensuring services are effective, ethical, and responsive to community needs.

    Hope brings 20 years of experience in addiction treatment, with specialized expertise working with adults involved in child protection and family court systems. In addition to her executive leadership responsibilities, she completes pre-trial screenings and focuses on complex caseloads involving addiction, domestic violence, sexual violence, and other listed offenses. Her professional background informs her leadership approach, with a strong emphasis on accountability, community safety, and evidence-informed practice.

    She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Vermont and a Master of Social Work from Boston University.

  • Morgaine Wilde MSW, LADC

    Reintegration Stabilization Clinician

    Morgaine Wilde is a Reintegration Stabilization Clinician at TWI, specializing in addiction and mental health and bringing extensive experience supporting individuals with complex behavioral health needs. She is a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology from Burlington College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Vermont.

    At TWI, Morgaine provides outpatient counseling, developing strong rapport with clients and meeting the most vulnerable where they are in their recovery journeys. Her clinical work focuses on supporting individuals with histories of incarceration and substance use, emphasizing both accountability and compassionate care. She works with clients who have persistent mental health symptoms, those who have struggled with engagement, or who have encountered barriers to accessing other services. Her approach integrates clinical expertise with an understanding of systemic factors that influence recovery and community reintegration.

    Driven by a passion for prison reform and expanding resources for individuals reentering the community, Morgaine advocates for systemic change that addresses inequities in the criminal legal and mental health systems. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys playing music, exploring local swimming holes, and attending Pearl Jam concerts.

Community Support and Transport Specialist Staff

  • Anabel Grob, BA

    Reintegration Stabilization Community Support Specialist

    As the Reintegration Stabilization Community Support Specialist at Therapeutic WORKS Inc., Anabel plays a key role in supporting clients involved with the criminal legal system by providing intensive and comprehensive case management services. She helps clients attend appointments, complete life skills tasks in the community, apply for basic needs benefits, and access other critical resources. Anabel also provides crisis case management for individuals who need immediate support to address urgent basic needs.

    In addition, Anabel provides pre-trial release planning services for clients with substance use and mental health symptoms, including those involved in the Vermont Treatment and Specialty Dockets. In this role, she helps clients access inpatient and community-based substance use and mental health treatment, as well as sober living programs. Through this work, she supports clients in navigating the legal system, mitigating risk, and connecting to community-based resources that promote accountability and stability.

    With a background as a Registered Private Investigator employee, paralegal, and office manager, Anabel brings a well-rounded skill set to her role. Her investigative experience has honed her ability to navigate complex cases, while her legal background provides a deep understanding of the legal system and client advocacy. Combined with her compassionate and client-centered approach, this diverse experience makes her uniquely equipped to guide and support individuals on their journey toward reintegration and independence.

Contracted Supervisors

  • Susan Robinson, LICSW

    Susan Robinson, LICSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of clinical experience, specializing in trauma and sexually harmful behavior. She is trained in multiple evidence-based modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

    Susan has extensive experience providing services to youth, women, and men who have engaged in sexually harmful behavior, as well as adolescent and adult survivors of trauma. She specializes in conducting trauma and psychosexual evaluations.

    Nationally recognized for her expertise in female sexual offending, Susan authored the first workbook specifically designed for adolescent girls who have engaged in sexually harmful behavior, along with a corresponding treatment manual published by NEARI Press. She has also authored five chapters on the assessment and treatment of female adolescents with sexually abusive behavior and has delivered numerous trainings across the United States and Canada on this topic, as well as on adult female offenders.

    Susan is a clinical member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) and was awarded the Apple Award in 2011 by the National Adolescent Perpetration Network in recognition of her contributions to training and publications aimed at preventing juvenile sexual abuse perpetration.

    Since 1996, she has provided supervision to students and professionals pursuing licensure in social work. She serves as a contracted clinical supervisor with Therapeutic WORKS Incorporated, providing clinical oversight and support to ensure high-quality, ethical, and trauma-informed care.

  • Heather Lynch, MA (Licensed Psychologist-Master)

    Heather Lynch is a contracted clinical supervisor with Therapeutic WORKS Incorporated, where she provides clinical oversight and consultation to support high-quality, ethical, and effective service delivery.

    She specializes in psychological evaluation and consultation, with a diverse professional background that includes graduate-level teaching, forensic assessment, inpatient mental health treatment, and work with children and individuals with disabilities. Heather is known for her ability to approach complex cases with thoughtful analysis and to identify alternative perspectives that support meaningful outcomes.

    Her work is grounded in a humanistic approach, with a focus on understanding the factors that contribute to behavior and supporting individuals in making lasting, positive change.

    Outside of her professional work, Heather enjoys art, equine activities, hiking, and travel.

  • Kristie Torbick, MEd., Certified Yoga Instructor

    Development Specialist

    Kristie supports the mission and clients of TWI by researching and developing grant applications for funding opportunities and fundraising. Additionally, she has designed a psychoeducational curriculum for clients focused on grief work which supports Reintegration Stabilization. She has over a decade of experience in the counseling field, recreational therapy and trauma-informed yoga. Kristie uses her lived experiences with the carceral system to personalize her contributions to TWI.

  • Erika Barry

    Office Coordinator

    Erika is the Office Coordinator at Therapeutic WORKS Incorporated, where she supports the day to day administrative and operational needs of the organization. In this role, she helps ensure the office runs efficiently and professionally while providing a welcoming and organized environment for both clients and staff.

    A Vermont native, Erika has over 10 years of experience working in healthcare, including the past four years at a naturopathic clinic. Her background has strengthened her attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.

    She currently lives in Chittenden County with her daughter and their rescue dog. Outside of work, Erika enjoys snowmobiling and snowboarding in the winter, and spending time on Lake Champlain during the summer, often chasing sunsets by boat or jet ski.

Our Board Members

  • Andrew Bartnick

    Andrew is the President of the Therapeutic Works Inc. Board of Directors. He is a licensed Private Investigator and owner of Vermont Investigation Services, LLC in Waterbury Center, VT. He has worked as a criminal defense investigator/mitigation specialist for indigent people accused of crime at various levels of government since 1991. He began his career at the Public Defender’s Office in Utica, New York and then left to focus on death penalty defense work at the Capital Defender’s Office in Albany, New York. From 1999-2013 he worked for the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the District of Vermont, where he was the Senior Investigator handling a wide variety of cases. In private practice as an investigator since 2014, he continues to work for those in need.

  • Jessica Brown, Esq.

    Jessica Brown, Burlington City Attorney, provides the Therapeutic WORKS Inc. Board with experience as an Assistant Professor of Law and the Associate Director of the Center for Justice Reform at Vermont Law and Graduate School. Professor Brown joined the VLGS faculty in July 2021 after a twenty-four-year Public Defender career in New Hampshire and Vermont, in both the State and Federal Criminal Legal Systems. Professor Brown’s areas of interest include addressing the impact of wealth and race disparities in the Criminal and Juvenile Legal Systems, moving away from law enforcement and punishment responses toward restorative and transformative responses to harm, and providing the resources to address issues of health, wellness, and stability that will make our communities safer.

  • David McColgin, Esq.

    David comes to Therapeutic WORKS Inc as a semi-retired criminal defense attorney, currently handling court appointed appeals for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also the defense attorney for the Federal Recovery Court in Rutland, Vermont. David started out his legal career as a public defender with New York Legal Aid Society in 1981. He then worked in the Defender Association of Philadelphia from 1984 to 2012 in both state and federal court. While in Philadelphia he served as chief of the federal court appeals unit for ten years. He then worked as a staff attorney in the Vermont Federal Public Defender Office from 2012 to 2022. David is particularly concerned with epidemic of over-incarceration in the US and is focused on finding alternatives to prison. Outside of his legal career, David also teaches meditation and yogic breathing and has taught courses in prison.

  • Andrew Garland

    Andrew comes to Therapeutic WORKS Inc. with nearly 20 years of experience working within healthcare in Vermont. Presently, he is the Vice President of Client Relations and External Affairs for BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont. He is an intuitive leader who recognizes the importance of consistent and intentional communication coupled with purposeful relationship building.

    Andrew served as an Arabic linguist in the army and was a senior underwriter at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo, and a Master of Science degree in Administration and Management from St. Michael’s College.
